The Consulate Hotel, a six-story property located at 2901 Nimitz Blvd. in Point Loma, has been acquired by Encinitas-based Ambient Communities for $17.4 million. The 110-room hotel, originally built in 1971, has remained shuttered since 2019 and is now slated for redevelopment into market-rate and student housing.
