Compass, Inc. (NYSE: COMP), a leading tech-enabled real estate brokerage, welcomes Deasy Penner Podley (DPP Real Estate), a distinguished Southern California boutique firm with 175+ agents. In 2022, DPP Real Estate closed $1.25 billion in transactions from Santa Monica to Palm Springs. Founded in 2005 by George Penner and Mike Deasy and based in Pasadena, DPP Real Estate has earned recognition for marketing some of Southern California’s most architecturally significant residences. Under this deal, DPP affiliates with Compass as “DPP @ Compass” – aligning with Compass’ commitment to growing its presence in key markets, expanding its referral network, and strengthening its specialized marketing capabilities.
“We are excited to welcome such a talented group of agents in a vital market while extending the reach of our referral network and augmenting our marketing expertise,” said Parker Beatty, Regional Vice President of Southern California & Hawaii.
DPP Real Estate has long been celebrated for its tailored approach to Southern California’s unique real estate needs. Through this agreement, local agents will retain their ability to provide customized service to the areas they serve while gaining access to Compass’ cutting-edge technology platform and extensive agent referral network.
“This alliance enables us to continue delivering an intimate and highly localized service supported by the industry’s only end-to-end platform and a national agent network,” said DPP Co-Founder George Penner. “We could not be more excited.”
Under the partnership, key leaders from DPP Real Estate will continue to play pivotal roles. George Penner will stay leading DPP and, along with Mike, will actively contribute to the growth of Compass’ Architecture + Design Division, a dedicated affinity group committed to providing bespoke marketing solutions for some of the nation’s most architecturally significant properties – a mission aligned with the core values of DPP.
Compass’ recent moves have showcased a commitment to organic growth combined with an agile approach to pursuing strategic expansion opportunities. Over the past few months, Compass has successfully welcomed top agents from coast to coast, including Leslie Clarke, who leads the top small team in Connecticut, and Margo Hass Klein, the top agent in Washington at her previous firm. Compass also expanded into Arizona for the first time this spring when it acquired Launch Real Estate, a Scottsdale-based brokerage with 300 agents.
Compass entered Southern California in 2015 and recently enhanced its services in that market. The company introduced Title & Escrow integration into its proprietary technology platform in Southern California this year, making it the first Compass market to offer this service. This tool enables Compass agents to handle title and escrow services within a single platform with one click.
