SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 23, 2021—Cynthia Parker, President and CEO of BRIDGE Housing, announced her resignation today for personal reasons. Ms. Parker has been on leave of absence since earlier this month.
“We want to thank and honor Cynthia for more than a decade of service to BRIDGE, its staff, partners, investors and most importantly, the residents of the affordable housing that she played a role in making possible during her tenure,” said BRIDGE Housing Board of Directors Chair Kenneth Novack.
Under Ms. Parker’s direction, BRIDGE doubled its production, expanded from California to Oregon and Washington, and added significant depth and capacity in its provision of resident services and equitable community development.
Susan Johnson has been appointed Interim President and CEO. A 38-year veteran of BRIDGE, she has served as EVP and COO overseeing asset management, property management, resident programs, and community development activities, including a portfolio of 11,700 units of rental housing.
“Susan is an excellent leader, highly respected, knowledgeable and has dedicated her career to BRIDGE and affordable housing,” Novack said in making the appointment. “The board and I are grateful that she has agreed to take on the role during this time of transition.” He will lead the Executive Committee of the board to oversee the recruitment and selection of the next CEO.
