SAN DIEGO, Calif., November 22, 2021 – The award-winning AMP&RSAND project in San Diego, California has completed leases totaling approximately 23,000 square feet with two new tenants at the premier creative office redevelopment. The pair of tenants are Hoyle Cohen, a financial services firm and The Honest Kitchen, a healthy pet food company.

Owned and developed by Casey Brown Company, AMPR&SAND is an adaptive reuse of the former San Diego Union-Tribune Publishing Company campus, including an overhaul of a five-story office tower and a three-story printing press facility, both constructed in 1973.  The property was thoughtfully named for the ampersand character, the last figure in the typesetter’s alphabet and the last character printed when the Union-Tribune shut its presses in 2016.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Derek Hulse, Brett Ward and Morgan Reno represented the landlord in the transactions. Cushman & Wakefield’s Asset Services team also provides property management.

“It is with great enthusiasm we welcome these two great tenants to AMP&RSAND, an amenity-rich property recognized as an iconic landmark pressed in San Diego’s history  that has been reimagined for the demands of the modern workforce,” said Derek Hulse, Managing Director. “COVID-19 has presented many challenges, particularly in the office sector, but these new leases reflect the present pulse as more companies evaluate their needs to bring employees back to the office.”

Hulse noted, “High quality, amenitized workplace environments such as AMP&RSAND have also become increasingly desirable in the effort by companies to bring employees back to the workplace.”

Located at 350 Camino De La Reina, AMP&RSAND comprises two Class A buildings totaling 343,000 square feet situated on approximately 13 acres. The property offers agile space options, with convenient integrations for small and large tenants, as well to accommodate a company’s future growth. On-site amenities include a fitness center, yoga studio, gourmet café beneath an expansive Ficus canopy, resort-style showers and lockers, outdoor conferencing rooms with Wi-Fi, and an abundance of outdoor workspace and meeting places.

Morgan Reno, Senior Associate said, “The indoor/outdoor connectivity and abundant amenities offered at the project enable tenants to foster employee health and happiness and build culture, as well be used as a recruitment tool to help attract talent.”

The property is also with walking distance to the Fashion Valley Trolley Station and an abundance of nearby retail, restaurant and entertainment amenities. It is also proximate to the San Diego International Airport.

AMP&RSAND was the recipient of the Engineering News-Record (ENR) award for Best Project Renovation/Restoration in Southern California for 2019.
