Matthew J. Semic, PE, President of Latitude 33, states, “I’m thrilled to congratulate our new Associates!  Vanessa, Jason, John, and Erin have consistently demonstrated technical excellence and a commitment to our clients, communities, and company culture.  Each plays a vital role in mentoring and inspiring the next generation, delivering trusted results to our partners, and leading our growth in key markets.”

Vanessa Bolles specializes in managing site, utility and stormwater design with complex timelines for large-scale, phased developments.  Current projects include UC San Diego’s Triton Center, four projects with San Diego Community College District, the master plan for Sharp Grossmont La Mesa, and the Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego’s La Jolla campus.  She is also very involved in mentoring and investing in Latitude 33’s next generation team members.

Jason Gordon has a particular proficiency in the development of parks and natural spaces, higher education facilities, life science developments, healthcare facilities, roadways, and residential subdivisions.  Recent and current projects include: UC San Diego’s Nuevo West Graduate & Professional Student Housing, the roadway system at the Cross Border Xpress (CBX), and a 15-acre San Marcos medical center campus.  On a smaller scale, the Buena Vista Reservoir Park in Carlsbad was a particularly rewarding project due to its significance to the community.

John Majocha, PE, QSD has led large-scale real estate developments in the military, commercial, and civic market sectors totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.  His recent projects include NAVFAC SW design-build projects in Naval Amphibious Base and Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, a design-build project in Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County for Astrotech Space Operations, as well as the Rancho Cielo residential community in Rancho Santa Fe.  John is also involved in training staff, budget management, and business development at Latitude 33.

Jason Gordon, one of Latitude 33’s newest Associates, states, “My favorite part of being a civil engineer is working across extremes.  It’s about understanding everything from the precise, fraction of an inch to the 30,000-foot view—the interplay between the earth, the underground systems, the air above, and the buildings where they all converge, inside and out.”
