Construction is nearing its end at Downtown Los Angeles’ newest dual-branded hotel towers. Expected to be completed by the end of 2022, the 37-story buildings will house 727 rooms between an AC Hotel and Moxy Hotel.

“Offering two unique experiences at one address, coupled with an unparalleled slate of shared programming, we are confident both brands will resonate with visitors to the Convention Center and Staples Center and locals alike,” said Mitchell Hochberg, president of Lightstone.

The property, located on the corner of West Pico and Figueroa Street across from the Los Angeles Convention Center, is being developed by national real estate investor and developer Lightstone. In total, the 600,000-square-foot building will include 380 rooms belonging to the  Moxy Hotel and 347 rooms for the AC Hotel.

In addition to the hotel rooms, the completed property will also offer 12 onsite restaurant, bars and lounge areas, 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space and 8,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Additionally, the property will include various shared amenity spaces to be used by guests of both hotels. The project includes a 6,000 square-foot landscaped pool deck and as well as a rooftop terrace with views of the rest of Los Angeles.

Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the property is near many of the city’s main attractions. As well as its adjacency to the Los Angeles Convention Center, the property is near the Crypto.com Arena and LA Live. The project site also will place hotel guests just a short commute to both Interstates 10 and 110. The area is also home to various other four- and five-star hotel properties, including the JW Marriott Los Angeles LA Live hotel, Hotel Figueroa, NoMad Los Angeles as well as several others.

The new hotel tower will add to Lightstone’s growing hotel portfolio. In 2017, the company opened its first Moxy property, a 612-room hotel in New York City’s Times Square. Since then, the company has opened a 350-room Moxy Chelsea and 286-room Moxy East Village in New York and the 202-room Moxy Miami South Beach in Florida.

While continuing to grow its hospitality portfolio, Lightstone develops, manages and invests in properties across all sectors. Currently, the company is active in 24 states across the country with a total of 132 properties. Of its total $6.5 billion portfolio, Lightstone maintains approximately 4,300 hotel rooms.
