Sagemont Plans 121-Room Extended Stay Hotel in Moreno Valley

Sagemont Hotels, an Anaheim-based development group, is planning to bring more hospitality space to the Inland Empire. During a recent meeting with the Moreno Valley Planning Commission, the City approved a resolution for a plot plan request that would make way for a 121-unit hotel within an existing shopping center.

The project site is located at 27500 Eucalyptus Ave. and consists of 2.74 acres. On a 1.91-acre portion of the site, Sagemont Hotels is planning to develop a four-story, 75,847 square foot Home2 extended stay hotel with parking for 130 vehicles. The remaining 0.82 acres would be left alone for a future pad site.

The hotel would house a number of guest amenities. In addition to the in-room kitchenettes, other onsite amenities include an outdoor pool and patio area, laundry services, a fitness center, a rooftop outdoor deck, a market and dining area in the lobby.

With designs from Robert F. Tuttle Architect, Inc., the hotel would be constructed in a contemporary style, using a mix of materials and earth-tone colors. Materials include a stucco exterior with other elements like stone, tile and glass. Overall, the design is compatible with the rest of the existing shopping center, city documents state.

Located within the Stoneridge Towne Centre, the hotel would be surrounded by a significant amount of retail amenities as well. The 117,191 square foot shopping center is home to retailers like Kohl’s and Target, among others. The shopping center is also located just off Route 60, providing easy access to the rest of the Inland Empire.

Riverside County as a whole has seen continued hotel development over the past year. According to the most recent year-end 2022 hotel development survey from Atlas Hospitality Group, three hotels with 228 rooms opened in Riverside County during 2022, with the largest being the 104-room Hilton Garden Inn in Temecula.
