A 2.56-acre development site entitled for a Frank Gehry-designed residential project has recently been placed up for sale in Los Angeles. The site, at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Crescent Heights, had previously been planned for a 203-unit development but now remains vacant, the listing from CBRE shows.

Located at 8150 Sunset Blvd., the site is currently available for sale on an unpriced basis, according to CBRE. Los Angeles-based developer Townscape Partners had previously planned for two mid-rise  residential buildings at the site with 57,300 square feet of commercial retail space.

The site was previously home to the 20,000 square foot  Lytton Savings Building. That building was demolished in 2021 to make way for the planned development. The project was initially expected to be completed in 2023.

The property is located in West Hollywood near a number of retail and dining amenities and is also within close proximity to the Sunset Strip.

The area has seen several project proposals in recent years. One project proposed for West Hollywood is a 170,000 square foot mixed-use development by A.J. Khair. According to previous reporting from The Registry, The Harper, which would be located at 8240 Sunset Blvd., would consist of 167 hotel rooms, 45 residential units and commercial space.
