A site along West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles could see some new development, following a meeting with the City’s Planning Commission. During that meeting, Divine Hotels Group shared details about its proposal for a 125-room hotel at 2250-2270 West Pico Blvd., LAYIMBY reported.

With designs from JWDA Architects, the project would include two six-story hotel buildings at a maximum height of 77 feet with 130 parking spaces and a range of onsite amenities. The proposed architectural aesthetic combines geometric forms and a vibrant palette of glass, metal and wood panels.

The ground floor of both buildings will house essential elements like a hotel lobby, breakfast space and entrances to subterranean parking levels. Mezzanine levels will offer additional office and storage space, while the second floor will provide access to the hotel courtyard, pool and guest rooms. The guest rooms will be situated on the upper floors.

Situated on five parcels in the city’s Pico-Union neighborhood, the project would be located near  a number of Metro bus lines, along with various other options like routes 28, 200, 204, 603, and Rapid 728, 733, and 754. A bus stop at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and West Pico Boulevard also adds to the project’s connectivity.

The project also involves the demolition of an existing commercial building on the site. Anticipated to take approximately 12 months from start to finish, the construction process will unfold in three main stages: demolition/site clearing, site preparation and building construction, according to the report.
