Farmshop Brings Wholesale Bakery and Offices to Row DTLA

The aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries is set to fill the air at Row DTLA, the popular retail and office complex in Los Angeles’ Arts District. Farmshop, the acclaimed market and restaurant concept founded in Brentwood, has signed a lease to establish a new wholesale bakery and office space within the center.

The bakery project will span 15,000 square feet and feature state-of-the-art culinary equipment. This includes sophisticated imported machinery like a nine-deck, fully automated Kornfeil oven from the Czech Republic and a Revent proofing tunnel from Sweden. Additionally, Farmshop plans to utilize the facility for co-packing services, coffee roasting, and a white-label coffee program, according to industry reports.

Alongside the bakery, Farmshop will relocate its offices to Row DTLA. According to co-owner Adam Block, this move helps facilitate greater collaboration and operational efficiency “One of the unique benefits of having our offices under the same roof as our wholesale bakery is the opportunity for seamless collaboration and efficiency,” he said in a statement.

Known for its locally sourced, California-inspired cuisine, Farmshop’s existing Brentwood location offers a delightful breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu that includes freshly baked goods. The new downtown bakery plans to further expand its offerings.

Row DTLA has been steadily expanding its footprint, recently adding a diverse collection of spec suites and securing several leases. This addition of Farmshop promises to enhance the complex’s appeal as a dynamic retail, office, and culinary destination.

The addition of Farmshop adds another layer to the rich history of the Row DTLA site. Initially constructed in the 1920s and known as L.A. Terminal Market, it later became Alameda Square and served as a major hub for produce wholesalers. Atlas Capital Group’s redevelopment has transformed it into a thriving mixed-use destination since 2016.
