A proposed project at 3600 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood is moving forward following a planning commission hearing last month, according to a report from LAYIMBY. Led by developer Jamison Properties, plans for the project involve the construction of two 23-story buildings designed for both commercial and residential purposes.

With designs from Perkins + Will, the project envisions two towers totaling 660,040 square feet. The site is currently developed with an existing 22-story, 385,520 square foot commercial office building which will remain, while the two-story parking structure will be demolished to make way for the new development.

The towering structures will reach a height of 269 feet, offering 6,359 square feet of commercial space and a total of 760 residential units. The residential mix comprises 133 studios, 475 one-bedroom and 152 two-bedroom units.

The new buildings will host 19 residential stories atop a parking garage spanning six levels, with four above ground and two below ground. The garage is designed to accommodate 1,527 automobile parking spaces along with 1,595 long-term bicycle parking spaces and 29 short-term bicycle parking spaces.

Renderings exhibit an array of amenities such as a rooftop deck and green spaces atop the fourth-level parking podium. In total, the project plan involves 79,800 square feet of open space and ground floor amenities, including a gym.

Following the recent Planning Commission hearing, developers aim to commence construction by year-end, according to the report.
