Kidder Mathews Continues Expansion, Adding New Regional President for Greater L.A.

Los Angeles, Calif. (October 20, 2021) – Kidder Mathews, the largest privately held commercial real estate firm on the West Coast, has tapped Andrew Altman to lead brokerage as regional president for Greater Los Angeles. Altman will oversee and grow the firm’s four L.A. offices by recruiting talent and supporting strategic business pursuits.

“L.A. and all of Southern California is a significant region of focus for our expansion, and we are excited to have Andrew executing on our plan in L.A.” said Kidder Mathews President & COO Brian Hatcher. “Our strategic growth in California over the past five years is unprecedented, and we will continue that trajectory with Andrew overseeing the region.”

In the past five years, Kidder Mathews has opened nine offices, bringing its total West Coast presence to more than 900 professionals across 21 locations.

Altman brings over 17 years of commercial real estate expertise. His recent experience includes 10 years at CIM Group, a private equity firm, where he oversaw the leasing and development teams for the West Coast. Prior to that, he was an office broker in L.A. for seven years with Cushman & Wakefield and Charles Dunn Co.

While other commercial brokerages have been consolidating into larger publicly held firms, Kidder Mathews, which is privately owned by its brokers and key employees, continues to capitalize on this trend by offering its unique platform to attract top talent. The platform is built on a flat and efficient management structure with award-winning marketing and support services, and commission splits that are significantly more favorable to brokers. The firm offers the opportunity for its brokers and employees to become shareholders.

Kidder Mathews has been named an Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Company in America six times, achieving the magazine’s Honor Roll status. In addition, the firm boasts 72 Best Places to Work Awards across the West Coast and over 480 top rankings and awards by West Coast and national publications and media companies.

“Kidder Mathews’ successful and rapid growth on the West Coast is helping redefine how business is done in commercial real estate,” said Altman. “The firm offers brokers an industry-leading platform for success while delivering exceptional services to clients. I’m excited to be part of that momentum.”
