Santa Monica has broken ground on a $56 million retrofit of its Big Blue Bus campus, installing 130 DC fast-charging ports and a heavy-duty electrical backbone engineered to power as many as 195 electric buses as the transit agency drives toward an all-electric fleet by 2032.
