Audio equipment maker Audio-Technica has bought a two-story creative office building on Hollywood's Melrose Avenue for its new Los Angeles headquarters and showroom, choosing to own rather than lease in a submarket where more than a quarter of office space sits vacant, and paying well below what the seller spent six years ago.
