Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Responds to 2021 State of the State Address

LOS ANGELES, CA – MARCH 10, 2021 – Last night, California Governor Gavin Newsom delivered the annual State of the State address from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The Governor’s remarks reflected optimism and focused on steps for economic recovery in a post-COVID California. 

The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to share Governor Newsom’s optimistic vision for the future. “Governor Newsom gave us a message of hope after a year of unbridled uncertainty,” said Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the L. A.  Area Chamber. “We are grateful the Governor’s plans for recovery take aim at mending the inequities of our institutions while safely ensuring increased opportunity for all Californians.”

In his speech, Governor Newsom spoke of the $2.6 billion being utilized in California’s Small Business Grant Fund, which has been uniquely beneficial to women and minority-owned small businesses. As we look to the future and work to emerge a stronger region, partnering with the business community will be critical to ensure a swift and equitable economic recovery,” Salinas said, “we look forward to working with the Governor to ensure a brighter future where communities and businesses can thrive.”
