Mark Butcher Named Head of Asset Services for Transwestern’s Southern California Region

Firm Continues Expansion in Region with Appointment of Industry Veteran

(May 10, 2023 – Los Angeles) – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces the hiring of Mark Butcher as Managing Senior Vice President of Asset Services for the Southern California region. In this role, the 25-year industry veteran is responsible for directing the firm’s innovative property management activities, implementing building technology and sustainability initiatives, identifying new business opportunities, and recruiting and developing top-tier talent. Butcher also oversees a team of more than 100 property management professionals and a portfolio of 18.5 million square feet of office, healthcare, life sciences and industrial properties across Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, the Inland Empire and Las Vegas.

Butcher has managed over 40 million square feet of commercial property throughout his career. Prior to joining Transwestern, Butcher was a Senior Vice President and Market Leader at Kidder Mathews, where he was responsible for an 11 million-square-foot portfolio of office, laboratory, retail and industrial properties. While a Senior Vice President of Asset Services at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Butcher oversaw a team of 20 real estate professionals and approximately 250 service providers on a 10 million-square-foot laboratory portfolio in Southern California. He previously worked at CBRE and Grubb & Ellis and began his property management career as an intern during college.

Butcher is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and the National Association of Realtors. He is also a licensed real estate salesperson in California and a Certified Property Manager (CPM). He has been active with Big Brothers Big Sisters and served on the San Diego Children’s Museum facilities committee. Butcher earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.
