222-Unit Affordable Housing Development Planned for Los Angeles

Los Angeles could soon be seeing more affordable housing. A recent proposal submitted to the city shows plans for a 222-unit fully affordable housing complex in the southwest portion of the city.

Plans for the project, which would be located at 7715-7725 S Crenshaw Blvd., were submitted by Eleos Ventures, an affordable housing developer in Los Angeles. The project proposes to construct an approximately 123,615 square foot building reaching seven stories.

Overall, the project would comprise 24 studio units, 162 one-bedroom and 36 two-bedroom units.

Additionally, the project would provide 33 vehicle parking spaces as well as 23,100 square feet of open space.

The project site comprises two lots and is currently developed with a one-story commercial building at the corner of the site, while the remaining area is a cleared dirt lot.

Situated near the Inglewood Park Cemetery and Edward Vincent Jr Park, the property is bordered by Los Angeles’ Inglewood and Hyde Park neighborhoods. The site is also within close proximity  to many bus transit lines and services including Metro Bus Lines 40, 210 and 111, according to project plans. Additionally, the site is near various retail and dining amenities and the Los Angeles International Airport.

Los Angeles has seen several projects make their way through the city’s planning process over the last several quarters. Recently, Drona Investments LLC submitted plans for a fully affordable housing project in the city’s downtown. The project site is located at 748 S Figueroa St. and would include the construction of a 157-unit, seven-story apartment building with a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartment units.

Another recent proposal comes from East LA Community Corporation. This project would include a 140-unit affordable housing project in Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights neighborhood. The project site is located at 443 S. Soto St. and would include the construction of four residential levels over one commercial level and 70-space parking garage.
