Jamison Properties is once again planning more apartments for Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood. Earlier this week, the local development company submitted plans for a 125-unit development along Western Avenue.

The development – which would take shape at 730 S. Western Avenue – is proposed by a development team consisting of Gaudet Design Group and Alchemy Planning and Land Use. According to submitted plans, the project would include the construction of a seven-story apartment building totaling 108,641 square feet. Also included in the project would be the 3,920 square feet of ground floor commercial uses.

The project would feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, with 13 units also set aside for extremely low income households.

In addition, the project proposes 10,350 square feet of open space, including two recreation spaces at the ground level, a pool at the second level and rooftop amenity spaces.

At the ground level, the building features ground level commercial storefronts as well as a driveway for access to the project’s 101 parking spaces. The second level of the building is designed with a corrugated metal design element and signage for the commercial space below. Above that, the residential space is separated into two wings wrapping around a central courtyard.

“The upper portion of the building’s façade has been designed to complement Western’s vibrant mixed-use scene, with two large accent panels of dramatic ‘fire red’ colored metal that include project signage. Warm white stucco panels and dark grey recessed window walls and balconies create a rhythm relating to the newer neighborhood residential buildings,” project plans state.

Over the years, Jamison Properties has proposed a number of projects in Los Angeles’ Koreatown. In August, the company submitted plans for a 188-unit project at 3000 Wilshire Boulevard.

Just down the street from the proposed building at 3000 Wilshire, the company is planning an additional development at 3600 Wilshire Boulevard consisting of a 23-story tower with 760 apartment units.

To add to its list of projects along Wilshire Boulevard, the company is currently constructing another 22-story tower totaling 428 units at 3545 Wilshire Boulevard, according to its website.

Jamison Properties is the development arm of the larger Los Angeles-based Jamison Services Inc. Since its founding in 2013, the company has delivered approximately 4,700 residential units and has another 2,500 units currently under construction.
