Across the Greater Los Angeles area, major companies are continuing to leave their physical office spaces behind. WeWork, for instance, is exiting its space at Lakeshore Towers in Irvine. According to a report from the Orange County Business Journal, the coworking giant has closed its 75,000 square foot office space at the campus.

The office space, located at 18191 Von Karman Ave., is part of SENTRE’s larger 900,000 square foot Lakeshore office campus. According to a marketing brochure for the property from Cushman & Wakefield, the property consists of three amenity-rich office towers located within the Irvine Business Complex, just off of Interstate 405.

Lakeshore Towers is home to numerous other tenants as well, including Catalina Marketing Corporation, Griffin Capital Securities, American Healthcare Investors and various others.

The decision to exit the Irvine campus comes several years after the firm backed out of a deal in 2020 to lease an entire 116,300 square foot building at Irvine Company’s Spectrum Terrace campus, according to industry reports.

Overall, the company has made moves to cut back its office space. The firm previously had 10 offices in Orange County totaling approximately 600,000 square feet. However, that amount has dwindled over the years to now include six offices covering 315,000 square feet. According to the New York-based company’s website, WeWork was founded in 2010, and as of December 2022, has more than 700 locations in 39 countries.
